My name is Ankit and I am the founder of Charcoallines. I specialise in creating contemporary illustration by combining traditional handcrafted techniques with paper and various digital medium. Having worked in design space for over three years, I have had the pleasure of working with wide array of clients from publishing, editorial, retail and packaging. Few of the reputed organisations I have worked with include Toolroom Records, Oxford University Press, Dorling Kindersley and Nestlé India.
A graduate from Winchester School of Art, University of Southampton (England), I have had the privilege to be featured in various established publishing platforms nationally and internationally. My work was shortlisted under the category 'New Talent' for the Association of Illustration Award (2014); and has also been showcased and appreciated for a group exhibition in London.
As an image maker, I draw my inspiration from Baroque and Post-impressionist art; and have a strong affinity for geometric shapes, texture and monochromatic colours. By crafting and weaving paper in an ambiguous frame, my personal projects convey a feeling contemporary solitude. I like listening to electronic-house, eating broccoli, and running around with my beagle, Dunhill. I currently work with FITCH (India) as a multi-disciplinary graphic artist based in Gurgaon, Haryana.
